BRUTAL! now operating at full throttle
News posted by Ryan on September 21st, 2008 at 11:35pm GMTOK, so it’s not quite an early 2008 launch. But hey, there wasn’t much to talk about until very recently anyway. And we all knew Brutal Legend was going to end up being delayed for some reason or other, right? It’s Double Fine tradition. Kind of like having your publisher screw you over at the last minute!
But let’s avoid that slightly depressing subject for now. Onto more pressing matters: Welcome! You’re now looking at BRUTAL! The Legendary Fan Site, a hotpot of win that you should bookmark or subscribe to right now if you fancy keeping on top of any and all Brutal Legend happenings from here on out. Whether it’s news, videos, screenshots, whatever — you’ll find it here.
It’s early days, so obviously this is largely a foundation and you can expect new sections and whatnot to appear as time goes on. If you happen to run a site or blog yourself, check out the Site Linking & Affiliation page. Any and all incoming links are much appreciated!
No one has commented? What a crime, say I. May the brutality of this site reaches wide and far. Amen.
For those who want to spell Brütal Legend with a "ü" instead of a "u," hold down Alt while you type 129 on your numpad.
Unless you have a mac. then I don’t know.
Awesome! I’ve been waiting for a new Thrik site for ages and ages now! It looks great.
(On the Mac, it’s option-u to "arm" the umlaut, and then u again on its own to apply the umlaut to that character).
Thanks bres. ;-*
And good call on the umlaut tips. I might add them to the FAQ, actually.
Gorgeous web-site! The best Thrik design yet, and that’s saying a lot!
Superb.
Nice! Glad this exists :)
I was kind of surprised by the amount of info on this site that I didn’t know about this game previously. Good luck with everything!
Yey.. Finally!
Very nice look btw.
I’ve been New-Age-Religiously checking RSS feed for months now. Hurrah!
Interestingly, as I type this, I’m playing Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise, which is almost certainly the thematic opposite of Brütal Legend, and also requires Unicode to type properly. It’s like twin brothers that insist on dressing different!
Also, I’ve been using ALT+0252 to do the umluat, but ALT+129 works fine as well. I can see great rifts forming from this minuscule difference.
Ace. Hopefully you’ll be religiously checking it much time to come, too! ;D
I’ve just added the umlaut to the FAQ, incorporating all three methods. Thanks. ;
whats the site purpose after the game comes out?
Same as any other good fansite, just more BRUTAL…
niceness
Hah. Yes, the site will continue to operate into the foreseeable future, always providing any Brutal Legend updates such as DLC (add-on content), a place to get help, and maybe even eventually info about a sequel?! :)
The content will get a big boost once the game is out of course, with more info to help people get through the game, fun things to try, fan creations, etc.
ok awesome!
