Release date confirmed: Rocktober for US/Europe
News posted by Ryan on April 21st, 2009 at 1:55pm GMTConfirming the rumoured October 13th release date that’s been on the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ page for a while, the official release date for Brutal Legend has been announced by Electronic Arts through a press release: October 13th for the US, and three days later on October 16th for Europe.
Referring to the title of EA’s press release, Brutal Legend designer Tim Schafer had the following to say about the news:
“Wooo! Having an official release date is awesome. And how cool is it that EA threw down the dough to have the name of an entire month changed to Rocktober?”
This is obviously excellent news, and it’s good to see a confirmed release date after what seems like an eternity of delays and publishing problems — don’t forget that Brutal Legend would have come out late last year if the original plan had stuck. But you know what? It probably wouldn’t have been nearly as awesome.
October, errr pardon, Rocktober 13th shall be one of the greatest dates in video game history!
I am so excited that now, over two years after first reading about Brutal Legend in Game Informer that we finally have a release date! I am just sad it isnt a few months sooner.
ROCK ON!
id lought if when we finaly get the game we will be like THIS GAME SUCKS!
^ Impossible!
Well, there’s always the option of hanging ourselves if that happens!
Seriously though, I have 100% faith in Tim Schafer. I don’t know how many of you guys following Brutal Legend have played his past games, but every single one I’ve played has been wonderful — as in, ‘one of the best games ever’ type material.
Looking forward to it! My birthday no less!
All we need now is that fabled PC version…
Good or bad, Tim Schafer’s games are always a rent. Meaning they are enjoyable games. I personally can’t wait for the free T-shirt I should be getting since I have mine reserved, and paid off. I can’t wait till it comes out so I can review it.
