Tenacious D in-game guitar if you pre-order

If you were kind of thinking about pre-ordering Brutal Legend rather than waiting to pick it up once it hits the shops, there’s now one massive incentive to do it via GameStop: an epic guitar that can be used instead of Clementine, built from the demonic force of Tenacious D.
The exclusive Tenacious D guitar features:
- New sound effects
- New voice-over work from Jack Black and Kyle Gass
- New visual effects suite
Clearly you have no option but to go and pre-order Brutal Legend right now. You may also want to check out a screenshot of the guitar.
An interesting tidbit revealed by this news is that there’ll presumably be an in-game way to switch between Clementine and the Tenacious D guitar. Possible implication that there’ll be many more to find and use throughout the game?

I’m hoping this guitar is given with pre-orders from Ebgames in Canada as well, cause I’ve had the game pre-ordered since back when the game was being put out by Sierra.

DAMN IT! I have had mine paid for, for over a year. That was when a Brutal Legend t-shirt would be given for each pre-order. DAMN F***ING EA! I had been waiting over a year for that shirt, a real life item not just a stinking add on to the game. I understand most see this as kick ass, but I only have cash and can’t order the t-shirt even if I have the money needed for it. I thought not only would I get a kick ass shirt (both the Name T and the Eddie Rocking version are available and Brutal Legend related thought was possible) of Double Fine I would get it without the worry of never getting it. (Problem when sending cash threw the mail it is all hopes and dreams.) DAMN YOU EA FOR CRUSHING MY DREAMS!

Just watch as another company like Best Buy comes out with another exclusive item. Something similar to that happened with Psychonauts, meaning if you wanted both exclusive t-shirts you had to buy the game twice.
I guess it’s just business. GameStop would have been willing to pay for something special, and Double Fine delivered.
I know, just something that pisses me off. It is just something small I am pissed off at is all cause I was looking for it and it got changed. I was as pissed when the release date got changed. Something you will get use to, just still sucks that it happen is all.
Is it only if you pre-order from gamestop? because the only real game retailer’s in NZ are EB games and they don’t even have brutal legend listed…

Ummm, EB Games and Gamestop are the basically the same company EB Games is owned by Gamestop as a division of Gamestop. As far as I know you get the same thing if your pre-order from either store. We used to have an EB Games at our mall and we always got the same stuff that you got if you preordered from Gamestop. However, now the changed the signs to offically make it into a Gamestop as opposed to an EB Games.
I think it’s very probable the offer will make it into other territories, but I’ve not seen anything confirming it yet. If anyone does spot their local stores offering it with the bonus, let me know as I’ll want to incorporate that into an ordering information section I’m going to do.

I pre-ordered a long time ago. I had to go ask for a code, and realized when I got home that it was just an early demo code. Are they giving out codes for the guitar yet, or are those when you pick the game up?

Metalkitten, if you preorder from Gamestation in the UK, they have the guitar code exclusively. I know this because i have done it, Oh yeah! The D is coming home!!!!!!! \m/

I preordered the game and they didn’t give me the code for the ps3. I am extremely pissed. Can you give me the code please cause i payed extra money for the code as in $65 instead of $59.99
Sorry to hear that Juggalo, however this is a fan site so unfortunately I can’t have extra codes dispensed to you. I recommend shooting a tweet to the official Brutal Legend Twitter page — they may be willing to quickly send you a new one to make up for GameStop’s mistake.
I had the same problem… the code I was given by Gamestop did nothing more than give me a week’s early access to the demo.
i thought since it said it was an in game guitar that eventually you unlock it. now im hoping that they release it as a game add on.
